On December 30, 1812, near Tauragė, at the Požerūnai mill, a convention was signed between Lieutenant General H. York, commander of a Prussian army corps, and Major General I. Dibich, of the Russian army. This convention, known as the Tauragė Convention, brought fame to Tauragė in Europe. To mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the convention in 1912, a granite monument was erected.
The reverse side is blank, with a printed publisher’s mark: "Verlag und Eigentum der Buchdruckerei Parowski in Tilsit, Fachabt. für Litauen."
