1972 Ireland One Pound Banknote
Obverse: The front of the banknote features the iconic image of Lady Hazel Lavery, wearing a traditional Irish shawl, on the left side, set within an oval frame. Above her portrait, the note's serial number "8IJ394362" is printed in red twice, on the left and right sides. The central part of the note displays the text "THE CENTRAL BANK OF IRELAND" and its Irish equivalent "BANC CEANNAIS NA hÉIREANN," along with "LEGAL TENDER NOTE" and "NÓTA DLÍTHAIRGTHE." The denomination "ONE POUND" is featured prominently at the bottom, with additional instances of "£1" in the four corners of the note. The signatures of the Governor and the Secretary of the Department of Finance are present at the bottom. The note's issuance date "28-6-72" is printed on the lower right.
